Well, I'm ill, it's cold, it's pouring down. It's sunday, and tomorrow the day for the deads.
Nice week-end...
So the evening is coming and with the night i'm huddling at home (-waiting for some event ... as my friends know ...). And I thought it'll be good to listen to the group "A Filetta" with such an atmosphere.
For the people who don't know, I'm Corsican  - as well as Provençal.  I don't forget Berry too - which is a beautiful land I came from by my father - but I didn't grow up there, so I naturally identify with those two countries, Provence and Corsica, and I strongly feel those roots in me, which I'm very proud of. I just spent a wonderful summer in Corsica, it was such a  marvelous experience and such an happy memory! So i'm really enjoying tonight listening to this music. And drinking corsican white beer ; more than a beer it's like drinking a cloud. So sweet, without any bitterness, i was amazed (- i tried the Pietra this summer, amber chestnut beer, really very good, but not such a thing like the Colomba). I'm just reading something about on the net :

"COLOMBA is a white beer of 5° alcohol strength, brewed from barley and wheat and flavoured with herbs from the Corsican maquis. Unfiltered, and bottom-fermented, it is naturally clouded because of the presence of yeast, but its taste and scent come from the heart of the maquis. A delicate blend of tree strawberry, myrtle, and juniper is prepared in a large tea-ball and left to infuse in the kettle while cooking the wort.
This exclusive recipe has received accolades from the specialists: voted best white beer in England for 2003 by the magazine GastroPub, or described as a headily scented white beer. A very refreshing beer, built on a perfect balance between freshness, bitterness and sweetness.” by Dominique Laporte - best sommelier of France for 2004.
COLOMBA, the beer from the maquis."

I'm with only two bottles left and I think I will not dare touch them too soon (when will I have some others ?!) !!!!!
Anyway, the music and the beer are cocooning me, and the evening became somewhat mysterious and beautiful, like you own the world, with the feeling that these low and deeps voices which resound deep within me,  are spreading through the night all over the world.
I was about to post only the last song, "Eo sai", which always gives me sobs in the voice... Such a beautiful deep love song. And when I drank my Colomba, I thought "Una tarra ci hè" will be in harmony with the weather and the reminiscences from Corsica.
In the end, I posted all the disc.............. !
As much as A strada di l'avvene e Canti di a terra è di l'omi by Canta u populu corsu give me of the feeling of spring, I image this disc with autumnal atmosphere.

 EO SAI
     "Eo sai saraghju qui
Pè chi mimoria toia
Abbia sempre una lenza da annacquà
Un sole da ragighjà
       Eo sai saraghju qui
A' parà ti lu tempu
Chi hà da zuccà è fronte
A porghje ti a e volte e mio riviglie tonte
A sente di centu è più cose di
Eo sai saraghju qui
      Eo sai saraghjù qui
Ad' apprunpinquà i ghjorni
Pè chi u viaghju
Ùn si fia in un travintaghju
     Eo sai saraghju qui
Quandu strughje l'ultima neve
E chi Golu fattu si ne hè zergosu
Da l'anni sbrembatu ma silenziosu
A senti ti centu è più cose di
Eo sai saraghju qui "

       UNA TARRA CI HÈ
"Una tarra ci hè per voi
Di lacrime d'invernu
D'ore chi varnu in darnu
E' di luce chi piglia fine
Toccu Sittembre, dolce cunfine.
Una tarra ci hè per voi
Di sarre impaurite
Di carghji annant'à e dite
omi in tana è frastoni
Quandu s'incroscanu i toni.
Una tarra ci hè per voi
Fragata da l'arsure
Brusgiata da e cutrure
Spusalizia d'Eternu
Trà notte è fede, è infernu.
Una tarra ci hè per voi
Di mare, monde è disertu
Di sfide è danni à ch'ùn hà apertu
E calle di l'amicizia
Una tarra ci hè... Divizia ! "

And it's my land,  the Castagniccia's land, huddling at the heart of Corsica.

Steph a dit…

Touchant témoignage de tes origines corses...
J'ai découvert récemment que mon grand-père était corse ; je ne l'ai jamais connu, mon père ne m'en a jamais beaucoup parlé. Je pense aller à la recherche des informations bientot auprès de mon père...
Bisous !
